Due to our partnership with Weichert Realtors®, Weichert SPM located in Arlington has outgrown its location.

On November 12, 2017, we rolled out our partnership incorporating Weichert Realtor’s® step by step training system.  We believed that we could use the “Weichert Difference “ to build a team of professional, well trained Real Estate Agents.  We use this thorough step by step system as a guide in the process of buying and selling a home. Our eighteen years’ experience coupled with this step by step system has led to us needing to expand to a second location.

Our second location will help to further serve our customers while growing our agency. Our Bartlett office is located is at 6520 Stage Rd, Bartlett 38134, has 3000, sq. ft. of office space and nine offices with a number of agent stations.  This addition will allow us to add 40 new, well-trained agents. A Few Things to Consider Before Selling Your Home.

Our Weichert Realtors® SPM Sales Associates want to make sure that you get the most you can when selling your home. There are things that can be done that are a minimal cost, but that can maximize your home’s value.

Weichert Realtors® SPM sales associates use a Home Condition Checklist to pinpoint certain areas that may need repairs in your home before putting it on the market. Going through this checklist allows us to thoroughly look at the interior and exterior of your home and make necessary improvements to get the most money possible.

Ways to Increase the Value of Your Home.

Speak to your Sales Associate: Weichert Sales Associates understand the local trends and can give you the best tips for getting the best return on your investment.

Get inspected: Presenting a home inspection to potential buyers makes your bargaining position stronger by bringing any issues with your home into the open.

Create space: The current trend is toward open floor plans and great rooms. De-clutter as much as possible and use light colored drapes or blinds to create the illusion of space.

Keep your landscaping tidy: The appearance of your home will be the first impression and having a neat appearance promises that the interior of the house is well-kept too.

Clean up: Neatness and tidiness give the home a more spacious, open feel. When things are clean, they look newer and more valuable.

Upgrade the bathroom: Some bathroom upgrades can be expensive, but smaller items like replacing faucets and cabinet hardware can give the room a new look.

Paint the walls: Neutral colors make it easier for potential buyers to picture themselves in your home. High traffic areas and bright colored rooms should be repainted.

Update the kitchen: Kitchens are often the center of the home and small changes, like changing the faucet or a single appliance, can yield big results.

Remove or replace any red flags: If you walk by something in your home and think, “We should probably fix that,” now is the time to do so.

You Just Bought A New Home, Now What?

You just bought a new home, hopefully from Weichert Realtors® SPM, what is next?

  1. Put your paperwork in a safe place, something that is fireproof is best. You need these documents for taxes and when you decide to sell your house.
  2. Make sure that utilities and other household bills are paid by the previous homeowners. Make sure they have all of their other bills forwarded to their new home. This is important so that utilizes and internet can be put in your name.
  3. Change all the locks, change the alarm system or codes, and reset garage door codes. Changing all codes and locks is important so that the previous owner does not have access to your home and security systems.
  4. Clean your new home or hire a cleaning crew to clean your new home before you move all your belongings in. The seller may have had someone clean the home, but you can not be sure how clean it actually is. It is not required to be spotless before selling the home. This will help your peace of mind and give your new home a fresh look and clean start.
  5. Paint as soon as possible. It is easier to paint your new home before you move all of your belongings in. If you want to clean carpets or change the flooring do it before you move in. This will keep you from having to move all over again.
  6. Change your address with the post office. Make sure all your mail will now be sent to your new home. You may still receive mail from the previous owner which you can return to the post office or to the previous owner.
  7. If there are any repairs that need to be done, get them done as soon as possible. The best time would be before you move all your belongings in or unpack.
  8. After a few weeks, make sure that the transfer of property has been recorded and verified with the local municipality.
